Alright guys, since I’m coming to the end of my exams, lets make a AEROSOL Exclusive ![]()
Well, last time… I got bored. So I decided to setup my own SHOUTcast. which basically is an online radio allowing you to listen to other people streaming or perhaps if you wish to stream yourself you would need a server.
So today I’ll run over the fundamentals of a SHOUTcast. server setup, and a streaming in a shoutcast.
And if you ever consider running your own SHOUTcast. at least you would know.
Just to mention it first, most SHOUTcast. hosting out there are quite pricey, it does exist and it is useful to get one, however its not very cheap, and you’ll have to consider your audience group and size beforehand. SHOUTcast. uses a lot of RAM too! And the quality of the music depends on your internet speed as well as your RAM.
The audio is streamed ahead, so if you stop streaming, there will still be some audio streaming for a while, there is a delay basically.
What can you do with SHOUTcast.?
- Map a hostname onto your IP address hosting the SHOUTcast. and turn it into a player for blogs, websites and more!
- Play your own music and be your own DJ! There are loads of applications out there adaptable with SHOUTcast. including VirtualDJ, and if you have a mic, you can start talking!
Please note you will need the following before we proceed:
- WINAMP Player (Any version is fine). – http://www.winamp.com/player/
- SHOUTcast. WINAMP Plugin – http://yp.shoutcast.com/downloads/shoutcast-dsp-1-9-0-windows.exe
- SHOUTcast. Server (DNAS Application) – For Windows
Installation:
1. Install WINAMP player first then close it if WINAMP is opened.
2. Install the SHOUTcast. Radio DSP Plug-in.
3. Install The SHOUTcast. Server (DNAS Application).
4. Close Any Of Them That Are Opened.
Configuration:
1. Configuring The DNAS Application (Server)

- Open It Up, If “Windows Security Alert” appear saying sc_serv.exe is block, unblock it. Click Unblock.
- Click Edit Config. Find “Password=changeme” using Ctrl-F, replace changeme with your desired password.
- You can also edit “MaxUser=32″ to the desired amount of users you want listening, please read the description above this config though, it states the negatives of setting more users.
- Save it and restart the DNAS Application.
2. Configuring WINAMP to broadcast!
- Change the skin of your WINAMP to something you can move around easily with, I like Bento.
- Click Options -> Preferences (Ctrl-P), On the tree menu above the Close button, scroll down till you see Plug-ins and DSP/Effect. Click on that.
In there you should see Nullsoft SHOUTcast. Source DSP or anything like that. Double click on it.
- On that menu you just opened, click “Output”.
If the server is hosted on your computer, leave the host “localhost” as it is.
Change the password field and click Connect.
- If your server is online (DNAS Application) you should be able to play music on your WINAMP and have it sent to your SHOUTcast. DNAS, in which you can use snippets or .pls files to let others here the music your playing or what your saying! An internat radio station!
- You can edit preferences like the server description under “Yellowpages”, the “What I’m Listening To” on MSN for people who listens to your radio will be this description.
- Feel free to move around and change settings were required. Try not to mess with the encoding though.

And there you have it, done.
How-To’s:
- Transfer Music?
Drag music onto Winamp or go to file -> add media.
- How do I speak?
Click Input on the SHOUTcast. Source console, change Winamp (recommended) to your microphone.
I’ll be updating in the future with integration with VirtualDJ!
Its basically like using WINAMP, except with VDJ.
P.S. Don’t forget to port forward if your using a modem or else people can’t hear you!
For more information, be sure to look it up
or post it here.
Lol, I don’t have question 3!

Ehh, yes another terrible blog about my day.
So yea, decided to wake up at 6am, turned out I was so tired I woke up at 6.30am, lol wasted 30 minutes of revision, no matter. I finished washing up and all in time for 10 minutes revision then off to school, where I did a slight bit more revision for physics.
Ahh, the test. Paper 1 was it? Yea, the multiple choice. It was easy I must say, no doubt I had troubles over it, but then… Paper 3, the short answers one… Oh my gosh. It is incredibly EASSSYYY. I mean, wow… I skipped so many questions the first time around, I had to come back later only to realize how to do it. Lol, the other people doing coordinated science finished their test earlier than us and they were doing all 3 science tests (bio, chemistry and physics). No surprise my Physics IQ just went up thanks to this incredibly tough test.
So yea, English test was around a half hour more, I thought to myself whether I should use this time revising for history. Fuck it, we went to the canteen. Got a drink or so and started talking about the test and random shit. Hahahaha Jafnee. So here comes the funny bit and depressing bit.
Somehow… Don’t know how… Or don’t know why… There were 3 questions to the English test, I went like so daft and blur during the test, I only did the first 2, didn’t notice there was a 3rd. Lol too late. Saw them going around collecting, the truth is… I tore the last page out and pretended to say I don’t have it. But yea… I actually didn’t notice it was there. Dayum! My incompetancy. Doesn’t matter, its just yr10 exams anyways, **** it.
Besides that, the history test was 2 hours long! Our invigilator came a “SLIGHT” bit late, so we finished our test slightly later. But the late-ness of the invigilator allowed me to revise a bit more. So yea, I was writing like shit for the 1st and 2nd section for history. The USA one got me slight bit knock’d off. Probably cause I was focus so much on the League Of Nations and Treaty Of Versailles that I didn’t do much on USA… Or probably its exam stress? Or probably it was cause I was thinking of my stupidity during English? Anyhow, I managed to get around 5 pages in total filled up
:D I love history. Lol @ Adam. you CEET!
Oh yeaa… My mom also came late to pick me up, cause she thought my exam ended at 3.30. She saw wrong =.=”
Well got Chemistry and Malay tomorrrow. Only worried about Chemistry. Have a feeling imma’ fail
LOL.
Kk.. Think positive.

Well here it is, I decided to make a blog with a sneak peak of the blog’s future design.
I have an urge to merge the design style with the one I currently have cause I ran out of ideas on the placement of content on my older one, at the same time I think the present one is plain, so MERGE!
Anyways you can check out my Flickr shit on the homepage of the website, its my flickr streamer and most likely I’ll be adding some pics there once in a while, yess there are some pics dating back to ages ago like when I was in yr4 or some shit I think, anyways. See ya, back to History Revision.
Cheesy but keeping it simple
Top 5 Played iPod Apps
Posted by MrSaints in Horrible Critics Monday, 18 May 2009 16:05 5 Comments
This is the list for this Month “My Top 5 Played iPod Touch Apps”.
Yes, I my iPod is jailbroken w/QuickPWN, but that doesn’t matter.
I have equilavent to around 9 pages worth of apps now, and once in a while I try them out or mess about with them during class.
1. Touch Hockey – Free App Available in Apple Store
One of the most simplest games, with simple rules and little functions, and yet it is one of my top played apps. Ask me why?
Well as this game follows a very simple rule with easy to manage settings, I can be playing this in class without even putting my complete focus in it. Thus it comes under my top 1. Its fun, its quick and its addictive.
This application comes with multiplayer mode through LAN connection from your iPod’s WiFi, the lighting, the amount of air, and goal size can all be modified. The best part about it, this app is free! Unless you dislike the ads that constantly appears when you play, then pay for it. Each goal you score also includes a ACTION REPLAY, disabled through the settings if you wish.
2. Fieldrunners – For those who love Tower Defense or Tap Defense for the iPod.
This game features a simple objective of preventing your enemies from reaching the other side. With 3 maps, 3

The 2nd Map In Fieldrunners
gaming modes and 3 difficulty, this game can be played with endless possibilities. Modes include the standard 100 rounds with 4 towers mode, advance 6 towers to level 100 as well as an endless round game. Maps ranging from the most simple to the most difficult to manage this game packs the strategy! And if you have a love for Warcraft TD maps or the iPod Touch Tap Defense, this is an application you should try out. Build towers, defend the enemies, win, win, win. Oh yea, building towers costs money too! And these towers can be upgraded. Advance features such as a fast forward ability makes this game to my 2nd most played.
3. Tap Tap Dance Or Tap Tap Revenge (2)
I’m not exactly a big fan of Guitar Hero, but I have my fair share of enjoyments from playing it, so here we go, coming into #3 is Tap Tap Dance. With or without a friend,
Tapulous “Guitar Hero-like” games is definetly something you can enjoy!
All you have to do is tap the beats coming in! From gaming difficulty ranging from easy to expert, you will never feel bored of this game easily, unless that is if you played all the songs. Well… Unlike the old Tap Tap I had on 1.1.4 firmware, YOU can’t make your own song as far as I’m concerned, but you can download them and these downloadable tracks include famous Katy Perry to Daft Punk. Tap Tap Dance, Tap Tap Revenge 1 or 2, they are all great and you should try them out! There are many versions similiar to this out there which may/may not be similiar in certain ways, but its an app you should download.
4. Real Soccer 2009
Fans of the Fifa World Cup gaming series or perhaps Football manager, or whatever other footie game you enjoy,
this is what I call, Portable Football. Through my experience visiting cybercafes, gaming stores and such I have noticed quite a hand sum of people wasting life away on football games. Including the recent Fifa Online. Well Real Soccer 09′ features a similiar gameplay, with moderately good graphics for an iPod Touch application. Its definetly worth buying with a choice of various game modes and soccer teams. It features advance functions such as substitutions, formations and fouling systems. Its truely is realistic and great to play! Although my only comment is that the control and gameplay it self is quite difficult. It is not as easy as it seems to play as like playing on the computer or xbox. The controls are all touch-based.
5. Vampire
Coming in at number 5 is this survival horror game featuring … vampires!
With no surprise I actually enjoyed this game ,with a choice of more than 5 weapons, a perk system, 10+++ different monsters, various game modes and an awesome control system, you will enjoy killing these vampires and werewolves even more than sitting and playing Resident Evil Degeneration’s crappy controls. The shooting in this game is auto depending on where you place the aiming joystick. There are two controls, the movement and the target. Its simple to use, sensitive too! Gaming modes includes but not limited to wave attack in which you can purchase weapons, items and skills as well as survival mode in which you kill all the way picking up items dropped from the dead monsters. Weapons range from a pitiful and useless handgun to a extremely powerful rocket! Bang away!
The maps available are all quite Vampire-ish and hollow. The game features fantastic graphics and its something you can enjoy at midnight. haha, in that picture I was using a flamethrower. Anyhow, good game. Its a paid app just so you know
Well this come to the conclusion of this so-call review post, quite irrelevant to my blog’s purpose but anyhow interesting. If you would like to share your reviews, feel free to do so at the commenting section
I know these may not be the best apps but its definetly the most played apps for me, agree or disagree its up to you.
I get my applications from Installous.
